About ReACT FND Health

ReACT FND Health is a psychologist-founded organization transforming care for individuals with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), including functional seizures (or PNES), functional movement disorders, and other FND symptoms. Born from academic research and clinical innovation, we bring research supported, FND-informed treatment directly to patients. This provides a streamlined pathway for neurologists to refer patients for research-supported FND treatment through a trusted network specializing in FND-informed care.

Our ReACT Certified Psychologists deliver telehealth services across most U.S. states for adults, adolescents, and children diagnosed with FND (also called Conversion Disorder), ensuring access to specialized, research-supported care nationwide.

What is ReACT?

Retraining and Control Therapy (ReACT) was developed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) as part of pioneering research and clinical work focused on understanding and treating FND. The program continues today through NIH-funded studies to expand the treatment.

ReACT is a cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help patients regain control over involuntary functional symptoms through habit reversal and other evidence-based mechanisms. By retraining symptom patterns, ReACT empowers individuals to restore control over their bodies and daily functioning.

At the core of ReACT is the Precision Treatment Tool, an innovative digital platform that guides clinicians in tailoring therapy to each patient’s unique presentation, bridging the gap between research and real-world clinical application.

Our Mission

The mission of ReACT FND Health is simple but ambitious: every individual with FND should have access to research-supported treatment.

We pursue this mission by:

Expanding direct access to specialized telehealth care delivered by ReACT Certified Psychologists.

Training and certifying clinicians worldwide to provide high-quality, FND-informed care grounded in current science.
